Shots and Ice Cream

We are very lucky to be at the heart of the Mayo Clinic here in Rochester, Minnesota. Last week, we spent almost four hours at the "Travel and Infectious Diseases Clinic." It was an extensive but informative visit (Dan spent most of the time rolling his eyes so he may not feel the same way)....a video on travel safety, review of DON'T DRINK THE WATER, a wonderful pediatrician who made sure the girls are all up to date on their immunizations. Then, of course, the travel shots. We left the clinic with twelve shots between the four of us. OUCH!! We are now going back weekly to finish up the series. Heps, Typhoid, Rabies, Japanese Encephalitis, and probably more that I can't remember. The girls hate it but have been very good. DQ after the appointment seems to really help. At least it makes me feel better. What is it about the ice cream that makes all the ouches and negatives go away??

The answer is "Yes"

Yes, we are actually moving to India.
Yes, I am excited.
Yes, I am overwhelmed.
Yes, I am nervous.
Yes, we may be a little crazy.
Yes, it will be difficult.
Yes, it will also be the adventure of a lifetime.
Yes....you should keep reading because some days I will be ranting, some days I will be thrilled, and every day will be an adventure.

Rebekah is three!!

I am so thankful for the beautiful little girl Rebekah is turning into. It seems as if she has matured so much in the past two weeks. Little Miss Independence is her new name. Her birthday became a three day celebration. We started by taking cupcakes to her class at church on Wednesday. Thursday, we had lunch at school with Rachel and passed out lollipops to the class. (We have been doing weekly lunch duty so Rebekah thinks she is actually part of the first grade class.) Friday was the actual birthday party. Pizza, cake, presents, and a couple friends.....what more could a three year old ask for?
